Shane Farthing
Shane Farthing is a nonprofit and local government leader dedicated to building community capacity and creating thriving places. Throughout his career, he has focused on the intersection of community health and urban development, specializing in strategic action and resource development for mission-driven organizations and governments.
Currently the Principal of Shane Farthing & Associates, Shane supports municipalities, nonprofits, and congregations in achieving their community

development goals. His previous roles include local government leadership in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia; nonprofit leadership in the community advocacy and placemaking space; and entrepreneurship.
Shane holds a J.D. and a Master of Public Policy from The George Washington University. He is a passionate believer in the power of local engagement and is proud to serve on the board of Creating Art in Community. When not working on community projects, Shane enjoys songwriting, printmaking, collage, and gardening.
Yoshabet Martinez
Yoshabet Martinez, who goes by Yosha, is originally from Apan Hidalgo, Mexico. She has called North Carolina home since a very young age and proudly considers Wilmington her hometown, a place where she has built lasting friendships, meaningful relationships, and unforgettable memories.
Yosha has always had a heart for serving her community. From volunteering at church with youth and teen programs to supporting Festival Latino and assisting at local health clinics, serving and uplifting others has consistently been one of her greatest passions. As a bilingual professional, she is deeply committed to ensuring that language is never a barrier to participation, connection, or opportunity.
She began her career with the City of Wilmington Parks and Recreation Department on March 23, 2015, as a Recreation Assistant at the MLK
